JAKARTA, 17 September 2021 – PT Prodia Widyahusada Tbk (Stock code: PRDA) wins Gold in the category of Participation and Opportunity for Women to Lead Companies at the Indonesia Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Awards 2021 organized by the Corporate Forum for CSR Development (CFCD), the Ministry of National Development Planning (PPN)/National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) as the lead sector in the SDGs in Indonesia and in collaboration with the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and other SDGs institutions. The Indonesia SDGs Awards aims to appreciate the business players that have contributed to the achievement of the SDGs in Indonesia. The event was attended by the Chairman of CFCD Thendri Supriatno and the President Directors of state-owned and private companies.
Legal Head & Corporate Secretary of Prodia Marina Eka Amalia said that, "We would like to thank the Corporate Forum for CSR Development, the Ministry of National Development Planning, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, and related parties who have regularly expressed appreciation for companies that are committed to support the achievement of SDGs in Indonesia. This award is a motivation for us to continue to play a pivotal role and to take part in the implementation of gender equality in Indonesia. Prodia adheres to the principles of equality and non-discrimination and opens the widest possible opportunities for people to work at Prodia. Most of the female employees at Prodia are involved in decision-making and policy-making regarding health services as well as the development of new research and tests. This proves that women also have the capacity and competence to lead," said Marina at the Indonesia SDGs Awards 2021 (17/09).
The assessment process of the awards including verifying the information submitted in the form of a document and then presenting it at the judging stage in front of the assessment team. There are three categories in the Indonesia SDGs Awards, including Corporate, CSR Program, and Individual. In 2021, there are 78 companies participating in the Indonesia SDGs Awards.
Currently, Prodia has 2 (two) women who hold the position of Commissioner and 4 (four) women who occupy the position of Director. Furthermore, currently there are more than 50% of middle level management positions in Prodia led by women. Most of Prodia's management also comes from internal companies who have worked at Prodia for more than 20 years. “Prodia has a policy of grow talent from within. The Company continues to develop its human capital through training and provides opportunities for anyone to lead as long as they meet the competencies and capabilities required by the Company,” Marina added.
The ILO research related to Indonesian Women in Business and Management in 2020 stated that 77% of 400 Indonesian companies reported better business results after increasing gender diversity. With the implementation of gender diversity policy in Prodia, the Company managed to record a net revenue growth of 88.4% to Rp 1.2 trillion and an increase in net profit to Rp 301.02 billion. The Company also consistently distributed dividends to shareholders every year.
Furthermore, the results of a survey conducted by Grant Thornton on Woman in Business 2021, stated that there has been an increase in the representation of women towards female leaders in companies in Indonesia, where women occupying the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) are at 25%. It demonstrates that the women's leadership sector in Indonesia has running well. Previously, in 2020, President Director of Prodia Dewi Muliaty was one of 25 influential woman business figures in the Asia Pacific region in the Asia's Power Business Women from Forbes Asia.
