Not feeling sick or feeling just fine, still young, no time for it, expensive, and afraid of finding unknown illness are the common reasons young people aged > 18-35, like us, have to neglect Medical Check-Up while thinking it is unnecessary. Well, just because you aren' t sick don' t yet think that you' re healthy.
Remind yourself, when did the last time you have Medical Check-Up or medical examination? Perhaps it is easier to remember the last time you put your motorcycle or car under maintenance, right?
To ensure the engine performance, we usually check and maintain our vehicles, maybe every three months or once in a year at worst. If there is a damage, we may easily change the spare part.
Let' s compare it to our body. If we are not sick, we won' t even check and maintain our body in 2-5 years. Meanwhile, there is no spare part for our body and what we have right now is the only one. If our organ gets damaged or the function is disrupted, it cannot be replaced (except through a transplant, which is not easy). Knowing this, don' t you think our body is more important and more worthy of the regular check-up and maintenance?
Why is it important to do a medical check-up?
The check-up panel known so far is a set of minimum laboratory tests conducted to figure out any disorders or diseases.
Having the Check-Up Panel means:
- The diseases with obscure symptoms, such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, lipid disorder, blood diseases (such as anemia), liver diseases, kidney diseases, lung diseases, and so on may be detected directly.
- The development of illness and complications may be prevented and deferred, as the disease is already known at the early stage.
- The treatment may be carried out immediately while saving the cost.
- The productive age is extended since the health is well-maintained.
Healthy body brings more peace of mind and eliminates any physical problems in pursuing ideals, career, and dream.
When to have a medical check-up?
Periodic Health Assessment with Check-Up is recommended every 2 years for you who are below 35 years old or each year for you who are 35 years old or older.
In addition, the check-up should also be carried out with regard to the doctor' s advice when the hereditary diseases and the potential of communicable diseases are diagnosed.
