In order for a medical check-up to result in optimal examination and describe the actual condition of the body, it is recommended to take these following preparatory steps:

- Make sure your body receives sufficient intake of carbohydrate (minimum 150 g/day) during the past three days.

- Fasting for 12 hours but no more than 14 hours prior to being examined. For example: if you are planning to take a medical check-up at 8 am, the last time you eat should be 8 pm the night before.

- During fasting: do not smoke, do not eat anything including gum, do not drink tea, coffee, milk or other beverages even those without sugar. Please drink only plain water.

- Avoid doing sports or physical workout prior to specimen sampling.

- Do not take any medicine starting from 4-24 hours before blood sampling or 48-72 hours before urine sampling, except if your doctor recommends you to continue taking your medicine or due to specific health condition. Inform the laboratory staff of the medicine you are taking.

- If applicable, take the test in the morning, between 7-9 am.
