Prodia Officially Launches Prodia Health Care (PHC) Clinic and the First Regional Referral Lab in Medan

Prodia Health Care, a Wellness Clinic Service adjusted to the Customers' Personal Needs as well as a Regional Referral Lab (a Referral Laboratory for Sumatra region)

MEDAN, 07 October 2017 - PT Prodia Widyahusada Tbk (PRDA), the pioneer and leader of clinical laboratories in Indonesia, continues to expand and improve its service quality in various regions. Today, Prodia officially opens new Grha Prodia building in Medan. The facility provides Prodia Health Care (PHC) service, the first wellness-based service in Medan and the Regional Referral Lab, namely a Referral Lab for Sumatra region. The opening ceremony is attended by North Sumatra Governor - Tengku Erry Nuradi, President Commisioner - Mr. Andi Widjaja, Managing Director - Mrs. Dewi Muliaty, Regional Head of Area I Prodia - Mrs. Hermin Tikumaqdika, and Prodia Medan Branch Manager - Mrs. Titin Agustina. Prodia Health Care presents new innovative services employing the concept of Wellness Clinic with the commitment of Bringing Wellness to Your Life.

The Managing Director of Prodia, Dewi Muliaty, stated that Prodia Health Care (PHC) in Medan is Prodia' s contribution in supporting the government' s attempt to enhance the community' s quality of life through accessible quality services. "Through the establishment of Prodia Health Care, we' d like to provide better services for Medan community. Supported with much more complete test and service facilities, we hope to fulfill the customers' increasing expectation of health care," Dewi said during the launching of Prodia Health Care in Medan, Saturday (7/10).

Prodia Health Care (PHC) is a service expansion provided by Prodia. In Prodia Health Care (PHC), the services are adjusted to the personal needs as an attempt to prevent the disease from occurring. Prodia Health Care (PHC) has a more complete services than the usual clinical laboratories, some of them are Basic, Medium, and Premium Wellness Check-Up Panel, treadmill, X-Ray, USG, audiometry, spirometry, electrocardiography, mammography, vaccination, general practitioner services, nutritionist clinic, sports medicine physician to resolve your problems in diet, and other standard services provided by clinical laboratory. In addition, the services provided by Prodia Health Care (PHC) can identify your risk of metabolic diseases and detect the risk of coronary heart disease, diabetes mellitus, and hypertension.

At present, in North Sumatra, 13 Prodia clinical laboratories have been opened and operated in different cities such as Medan, Binjai, Kisaran, Padang Sidempuan, Rantau Prapat, Sibolga, Kabanjahe, Lubuk Pakam, Pematang Siantar, and Tebing Tinggi.

Dewi explained, Prodia Health Care (PHC) launching in Medan is a part of Prodia' s innovation and an active contribution in enhancing community' s awareness on health issues. Through preventive measures and early disease treatment, the community' s quality of life will be improved.

"The cost for disease prevention is much lower than it is for medication. Therefore, Prodia continues making innovations to improve the community' s awareness on various health aspects," she explained.

In the future, Prodia' s wellness health care concept will be personalized medicine. This concept is based on the diverse needs of each individual. Personalized medicine based wellness health care will give great benefits for customers. Each customer coming to Prodia Health Care (PHC) will be served with services adjusted to his/her personal needs.

Dewi is optimistic that Prodia Health Care (PHC) launching in Medan will receive positive responses from the community. In addition to improved health awareness, economically North Sumatra has good purchasing power. Based on the data from the Central Agency on Statistics, North Sumatra economy grows 4.8% in the 1st semester of 2017, supported with 53.39% of household expenditure.

Prodia strategy

Prodia Marketing Director, Indriyanti Rafi Sukmawati, explained that Prodia is planning to build special clinics for certain patients in the upcoming five years. It is predicted that by 2020, at least 34 clinical laboratories would have been built including the special clinics (Specialty Clinics) Prodia Children' s Health Centre (PCHC), Prodia Women' s Health Centre (PWHC), and Prodia Senior Health Centre (PSHC).

"As the pioneer in clinical laboratory industry, after 44 years of operation, Prodia is now available in 31 provinces in Indonesia with service network up to 274 outlets. Each year Prodia serves at least 14 million examinations with more than 2 million customer visits," said Indriyanti.

Throughout the first half of 2017, Prodia has added 8 types of test and 3 wellness check-up panels along with the development of Prodia Health Care (PHC) that provides wellness solution services. One of the new tests offered by Prodia is Warfarin IndivTest (CYP2C9 and VKORC1 genotype) to reveal CYP2C9 and VKORC1 genes polymorphism useful to find out the genotype to determine the dose of warfarin.

Warfarin is a type of anticoagulant to prevent blood clotting which can be harmful when given in inappropriate dose. Currently, Prodia Clinical Laboratory is the only clinical laboratory in Indonesia capable of conducting the Warfarin IndivTest.
